Cello — These 59 studies vary in their complexity, but all aim to make the player’s shifting as facile and unnoticeable as possible. Shifts cover the 1st through 10th positions. The Sevcik Viola Studies are a superb collection of exercises to help develop a student's bowing style, accuracy, rhythms and wrist speed/strength. These studies were composed for the violin, but remain valuable and applicable for the cello.
