Olde English Suite

Piano — Olde English Suite (2017) for piano, four hands explores my recent infatuation with Edwardian English history as popularized by the hit television series Downton Abbey.xa0 These four movements attempt to evoke the atmosphere and character of that comparably recent age.xa0 I also had the desire to write a piece for piano that I would have a wonderful time playing with several other pianists.xa0 -CP Olde English Suite explores Carter Pann’s infatuation with Edwardian English culture as popularized by Downton Abbey. Its four movements (Overture, Sarabande, Pastorale, Finale: Gallop) evoke the atmosphere and character of that elegant age. The composer notes he also had the desire to write a duet for pianos that he could have a wonderful time playing with other pianists.
