The first movement, “Chords,” is a slow, pensive study in parallel harmony, playing the three trios off of one another, and in combination. The second, “Scales,” is nimble and exhilarating, alternating frequently between solo and ensemble focused passages. Written for luminary wind ensemble conductor and scholar Eugene Corporon and the UNT Wind Symphony, MUSIC FOR NINE is ideal for collegiate ensembles looking to refresh their concert programs.
