Description
Organ — This prelude on the hymn tune Duke Street (commonly associated with Isaac Watts’ Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun) represents my love for the pipe organ, and for the music of J.S. Bach. My hope is that this piece might find a place as a church prelude or postlude, and as a recital piece, especially for students. Describing this work that is less technically demanding than his other organ music, Adolphus Hailstork has written: “The Prelude on Duke Street represents my love for the pipe organ and for the music of J.S. Bach. My hope is that this piece can find a place as a church prelude (or postlude) or as a recital piece, especially for students.”
