Baritone, Piano — NOBODY KNOW is a concert aria based on a text by Herbert Martin,an American poet based in Dayton, Ohio.The work depicts a “song from the other cross,”a viewpoint of one of the thieves crucified with Christ on Good Friday,the thief who pleaded to be remembered by Christ. For the Harlem Chamber Players, Hailstork uses text by American poet Herbert Martin that hears one of the thieves on the other crosses being crucified along with Christ and pleading to be remembered by Him. This powerful aria is available in two versions: voice and piano or voice and string quartet.
