Serenáde Op.22 Movement II

Description

Clarinet in Eb, Clarinet in Bb 1, Clarinet in Bb 2, Clarinet in Bb 3, Clarinet in Bb 4, Alto Clarinet 1, Alto Clarinet 2, Bass Clarinet — This is the second movement from Dvořák’s "Serenáde, op.22".  The original was composed in 1876, consisting of 5 movements, and the Dvořák’s own piano duet arrangement was published in 1877.  The elegance of the second movement works particularly well for the clarinet ensemble.  It is written in an ABA structure, and the melodic interest is interwoven through the voices of the clarinet choir.
