Blechman. His retelling of the famous medieval legend moved Kay to spend the best part of six months in creative output to produce a 50-minute opera. The Juggler of Our Lady was premiered in New Orleans by Xavier University Opera Workshop in 1962. The scoring calls for 15 voices with mixed chorus and orchestra.
