Voice, Piano — From the writings of the great Yiddish lyricist Abraham Sutzkever (born 1913 in Vilnius, died 2010 in Tel Aviv), Gilead Mishory chose thirteen poems for his Lider Togbukh (Song Diary) that guide the listener through a day in the life of the poet. Questions posed to one's self, to artistic creation, as well as direct questions to the creator of the world are but a part of the inner life of these texts. They deal with surviving the Holocaust, with pain and death, but are full of sensuality and an affirmation of life.
