Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Guitar — The virtuoso violin is leading the ensemble in all movements while the other parts share the accompaniment among them. This composition requires an outstanding violin player - knowing Paganini, this does not come as a surprise. The edition issued by Kurt Schumacher is the first practical edition based on the quartet's manuscripts. The quartets no. 8 to 11 are now also available at Zimmermann's.
