Description

Series: Jazz Journey Named after a popular Latin dance club in New York City that recently closed, this authentic salsa original is a showstopper in every way! After opening with a dynamic tutti unison, it features two Latin styles, songo and samba. Songo rhythms are most commonly heard in salsa music and employ lots of syncopation supported by a repetitious, but always moving rhythm section background. The samba rhythm used in the interlude features lush, modern voicings. Solo space is reserved for soprano sax, tenor sax, trumpet and trombonea member of the rhythm section could also solo. A guitar chord chart by Jim Greeson is included in each set. Duration 4:35.
