A Distant Voice

Description

This work was commissioned by Donald McKellar, Professor emeritus of Music Education and Director of Bands at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, University of Western Ontario. He commissioned A Distant Voice following his retirement from the University. This work has no programmatic content. The work was designed as a slow, reflective and stately composition. Two contrasting melodies dominate. A Distant Voice ends as it starts, on a quiet, meditative note.
