Wexford Carol

Description

This traditional religious Irish carol dating back to the 16th century fits beautifully for brass ensemble. The original text of the carol tells us the story of the nativity. The sonorities of the brass instruments lend perfectly to the serenely joyful occasion of the birth of the Christ child. This ancient melody, written in Mixolydian mode, gives the tune a simplistic and haunting quality.
