The piece begins with a beautiful introduction featuring moving interwoven passages passed throughout the band over a series of lush chords. The main melody begins in m. 12 with clarinets in the low register and euphoniums over a rhythmic accompaniment. At m. 23, the meter changes to give a different feel for the chorus. The next section features the woodwind choir with constant moving lines. Following this, the brass choir is featured with some unconventional harmonies.
