The grade 2.5 piece can be performed alone or with beginning-level parts that use only simple rhythms on open strings or first-finger notes. Set in G major with just a little easy shifting in first violin and bass, the piece features energetic accompaniment patterns and open-string double stops for a big fanfare of sound. A slower middle section introduces a solemn moment of reflection before the joyous theme returns for a grand finale.
