Autumn Waltz

Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3, Viola, Cello, Contrabass, Piano — The music of this piece is characterized by very simple melody lines. All of these lines can be played in the first position. A waltz is a dance tune in triple time, but it should be felt with one beat in each measure, so that the melody is flowing smoothly.As you play the piece, try to imagine a situation in which you are dancing in a forest colored in red and yellow leaves. Autumn Waltz contains simple and beautiful melodic lines that lilt along like falling leaves in the wind. Composer Yukiko Nishimura has such a wonderful flowing compositional style with effective use of more modern harmonies.
