Description

Trumpet in Bb, Cornet in Bb, Piano — The introduction of this number should be played in a smooth and sustained manner. The Polka movement should be performed with animation, in a bright, brilliant manner and with brisk staccato execution of the eighth and sixteenth notes. The performer should be careful to slur only the notes so marked and to take breath only at the places marked (') or wherever a rest occurs. In two places towards the end of the solo, the player has the option of taking lower notes, if the high "A" is beyond his reach as yet.
