It fits well with a concert band and is fun to play. Ed Kiefer starts with a solo clarinet on the jig "Lanigan's Ball" that builds and builds to a dramatic presentation of the folk song, before leading a section of repose based on the song "Binnorie." The percussion is highlighted in a build-up to the climax where the tunes are combined for a dramatic conclusion.
