6-Note Santa

Flute, Oboe, Flute 2, Clarinet in Bb, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet in Bb, Horn in F, Trombone, Euphonium, Bassoon, Bb Euphonium, Tuba, Mallet Percussion, Bells, Timpani, Percussion 1, Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Percussion 2, Crash Cymbals — 6-Note Santa (Jolly Old St. Nicholas) is written for young bands with at least six weeks of instruction. It is intended for directors who plan to have a beginning band performance at or near the winter holidays. The six notes needed for a performance are found in every beginning band method: Bb scale-wise up to G. The grade level is 1/2. Clarinet notes are below the break. Only the Snare Drum part contains eighth-notes. A suitable tempo will be decided by the director. All instruments will have an opportunity to play the melody to Jolly Old St. Nicholas.
