Tempo and articulation appropriate to the abilities of students may be determined by the director. The roll-offs are intended to allow young players some measures of rest. They may be omitted or repeated according to the endurance needs of young wind players. All cues are for endurance considerations. When cymbals are merely following the bass drum part, be certain that the player observes the proper balance.
