Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Metronome — This fun piece gives students the opportunity to work with a world-renowned musical icon – the metronome! As they “accompany” the steady beat of their mechanical guest, students will have a great experience with counting beats, subdividing and bowing challenges. And of course, they’ll learn how to use a metronome and incorporate it into their home practice. The score includes an announcement that can be read at a concert, to introduce the esteemed guest soloist. This is a really fun piece that will reinforce great musical habits.Suggested stage introduction:[Player in charge of starting and stopping the metronome enters from offstage with the metronome hidden under a cloth. They set it on a small table or upturned music stand next to the podium.]Conductor/announcer:For our next selection, the orchestra is honored to work with a world-renowned guest soloist.
