As they “accompany” the steady beat of their mechanical guest, students will have a great experience with counting beats, subdividing and bowing challenges. And of course, they’ll learn how to use a metronome and incorporate it into their home practice. The score includes an announcement that can be read at a concert, to introduce the esteemed guest soloist. This is a really fun piece that will reinforce great musical habits.Suggested stage introduction:[Player in charge of starting and stopping the metronome enters from offstage with the metronome hidden under a cloth. They set it on a small table or upturned music stand next to the podium.]Conductor/announcer:For our next selection, the orchestra is honored to work with a world-renowned guest soloist. Originally from The Netherlands, they have collaborated with major musical artists in every genre. Our esteemed guest rarely makes appearances on the concert stage, but we feel they deserve some time in the spotlight. Tonight we're honored to accompany a true musical legend... the metronome!
