Description

Soprano, Alto, Bass, Piano — The Lone Wild Bird combines multiple musical elements with the aim of capturing something accessible yet satisfying. Melodies are passed between the voices and piano, which weaves the two parts together in a dialogue. Minimalistic harmonies and rhythms are offset by a change of key and texture. The piece gradually builds to an impassioned climax which then ebbs away to a final contemplation. The rippling piano figure might evoke the rustling of wings--or a soul, desperate for flight.
