The vocal parts were carefully written to fit a variety of ensembles, including those with an unbalanced number of treble singers. While rehearsing this piece, focus on keeping a light rhythmic drive, encouraging the singers to move to the rhythm as if dancing a slow waltz. It’s also important to teach those with the main melody to always sing it as a four-bar melody, and not two.
