Alto, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass, Piano — The sensitive new setting of the ever-popular carol features a special treatment of each verse. Men’s and women’s voices hand off the melody throughout the first verse. The second verse offers a gorgeous alto solo, supported by gentle “Oos” from the choir. The third verse is a traditional a cappella setting, followed by a brief reprise of the first line of the alto solo, before the exquisite full-voiced closing phrase.
