The piece opens with a contrapuntal section that builds over time before peaking and transitioning into an expressive melody. In the final portion, the canonic textures return, building into a final, frenetic push to the finish. Neon Canons was commissioned by, and is dedicated with deepest gratitude, to the Walsh Middle School Honor Band and their director, Jennifer Bergeron.
