The Declaration resolved that "These united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states." Convened and signed at the Pennsylvania state house, later renamed Indepence Hall, these delegates became known as the "Founding Fathers."Performance notesAt an M.M. of 104, Declaration March presents a robust tribute to the adoption and signing of the Amercian Declaration of Independence. Key to the performance is attention to the dynamic contrast built into Heritage. (See mm. 28-32 and 49-52) As well as the same attention to articulations. The re-scored augmentation of the original theme at m. 58 is to be played broadly (maestoso) through to the final measure at 85. Declaration March presents a robust tribute to the adoption and signing of the Amercian Declaration of Independence. Dynamic contrasts and broad, maestoso themes paint a musical picture of this historic moment.
