Tenor, Bass, Piano — Christmas Bells at Sea is inspired by the legend of sailors who, on Christmas Eve, would hear the distant ringing of bells drifting across the waves. For these voyagers, the ethereal sound was more than a mystery: it was a sign of blessing, hope, and a prosperous journey ahead. Believed to come not from earthly towers but from the heavens themselves, the bells became a symbol of comfort for those far from home during the Christmas season. Christmas Bells at Sea is written for tenor–bass choir and inspired by the legend of sailors who, on Christmas Eve, heard distant bells drifting across the waves. To those at sea, the mysterious sound was a sign of blessing and hope believed not to come from earthly towers, but from the heavens themselves, bringing comfort to voyagers far from home during the Christmas season.
