Suddenly, a wave of panic washes over you as you think about the consequences of not having it done on time. It can be stressful to lose a homework assignment, and this can send your mind reeling and grasping for any excuse you can think of. While debating what might be the most believable excuse to give, you stall a little longer and say to your teacher, “See, what had happened was….”Hopefully, you are a model student, and you have NO idea what I’m talking about. You always complete your homework and would never need any of the excuses listed in each verse of this song.You’ll have a chance to flex your creative excuse-making when you get to mm. 96–97. Choir members can shout out seemingly random excuses (but I’d still plan it out and practice the order). The measures can be played as written, or repeated to include as many alternate excuses as you would like.
