Imaginary Folksongs

Description

Flute, Piano — Originally written for saxophone in 2011, this varied andengaging set is comprised of invented folk music from imaginedand fictional settings. Many of the movements have their originsin incidental music for live theater (as the titles imply), but somecome from literature and/or fantasy. Adapted from the popular saxophone version, this engaging set of six short pieces runs the gamut from virtuosic to melancholy to humorous.  With a little beat-boxing thrown in, this is sure to be an audience pleaser.
