UNE NUIT � LISBONNE, Op. 63 is a short piece for orchestra by Camille Saint-Sa�ns (1835-1921), composed in 1880 while visiting Lisbon. Dedicating it to the king of Portugal, Lu�s I, he conducted the premiere at the Teatro de S�o Carlos on November 13, 1880 in the presence of the royal couple. Described by the composer as a "little barcarolle," the piece evokes a lilting boat song. The first Parisian performance took place under his baton at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris on January 23, 1881.
