Description

Richard Strauss, one of Germany's greatest composers, was born in Munich, Germany, June 11, 1864 and died in 1949. A great master of orchestration, he created tone-poems in which the orchestra became one marvelous instrument, capable of expressing the whole gamut of human emotions. Among his art songs, "Zueignung" and "Allerseelen" became great favorites with concert and operatic singers. "Zueignung" is reminiscent of Wagner. This version for concert band is arranged by Albert Davis.
