Primordium

Description

Depicting life on Earth in prehistoric times, Primordium incorporates unusual sonorities, aggressive rhythms and dramatic tone colors. From the eighth notes of bubbling "primordial ooze" in the opening, to the volcanic rhythm in the low strings, and the heroic fanfare, this unique piece is sure to challenge and energize your students. Primordium can be performed by strings alone, or combined with the band version (Alfred item #18781) for a full orchestra or combined band/orchestra performance. Alternatively, you may choose to use only a few instruments from the band set, or perhaps just the percussion. Mix and match as you like, and have fun with this piece.
